We are looking to recruit Medical Secretaries with a focus on Theatre Scheduling into our Urology admin team. This is an opportunity for successful candidates to be multi-skilled members of the Urology Admin and Clerical service, supporting patients on general urology and urology cancer pathways through timely correspondence and theatre scheduling.
Candidates will need to demonstrate good organisational skills along with a willingness to learn and contribute to improvements in the service. The role will require candidates to work flexibly across all aspects of the role and is a pivotal part of the service. Full training and support will be given to ensure successful candidates are confident and clear in their area of responsibility
Main duties of the jobResponsible to the Administration Manager for the provision of an efficient personal secretarial service to the Consultant Team and supporting staff.
To be responsible for the co-ordination and transcription ofaudio files to produce clinical letters, reports etc., within acceptabletimeframes.
Manage consultant waiting lists and schedule theatres, bookpre op assessment and maximise theatre utilisation.

Person Specification Qualifications- 3 GCSES including English (or equivalent), Grade C/Level 4 or above
- RSA III typing or equivalent or working towards
- NVQ in customer services administration
- Working under pressure/ meeting targets and deadlines
- Working as part of a team / under own initiative.
- Current experience of Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet packages
- Experience using databases
- Previous experience working as a medical secretary including medical audio transcription
- Previous experience in the organisation of minutes, including minute taking and the typing of minutes and agenda
- Maintain effective, accurate and efficient office systems including meditech.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
- Knowledge and understanding the 18 week policies
- Knowledge of national and local access targets
