Lucion is looking for a Trainee Structural Technician to join our growing Infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a hands‑on career with a company that invests in your development from day one.

Based in Rotherham, you will travel across the UK, working alongside experienced colleagues to carry out surveys and investigations that help keep our highways and infrastructure safe, compliant and performing at their best.

No previous experience in structural investigations? No problem. If you have the right attitude, enjoy practical work and are keen to learn, we’ll provide all the training you need.

• Inspecting highways and infrastructure
• Assisting with structural investigations and condition assessments
• Carrying out pavement surveys and testing
• Trial pit surveys
• Pavement and structural coring
• Concrete investigations
• Supporting asbestos surveys within infrastructure environments (full training provided)
• Recording accurate site data and survey findings
• Working safely on live infrastructure projects across the UK

• Enjoys practical, hands‑on work
• Likes working outdoors rather than being office‑based every day
• Has great attention to detail
• Is keen to learn new skills and build a long‑term career
• Works well as part of a team
• Takes pride in doing a job properly
• Has a strong focus on health and safety
• Holds a full UK driving licence
• Is happy to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
• Experience in construction, highways, surveying or engineering is a bonus—but it is not essential
