This role focuses on the end-to-end architectural management of converting a commercial property in Rotherham, United Kingdom into a fully compliant House in Multiple Occupation (HMO). The successful candidate will oversee the entire process, from initial concept and feasibility through to planning, design, regulatory approval, and final documentation. The position requires a deep understanding of commercial-to-HMO conversions, with a strong emphasis on compliance, space optimisation, and effective stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities- Lead the architectural design and planning for the commercial-to-HMO conversion project.
- Develop and optimise layouts to maximise room numbers while ensuring full compliance with HMO regulations.
- Prepare and submit planning applications and manage the approval process as required.
- Ensure all designs meet building regulations, HMO licensing requirements, and fire safety standards.
- Produce comprehensive architectural drawings and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Advise on fire strategy, compliance, and best practices for HMO developments.
- Coordinate with the client to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
- Proven experience in commercial-to-HMO architectural conversions within the UK.
- Strong knowledge of HMO licensing, building regulations, and fire safety compliance.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Excellent space planning and layout optimisation skills.
- Experience preparing planning applications and managing approval processes.
- Ability to produce detailed architectural drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with local authority processes in the UK, particularly in Rotherham or similar regions.
- Ability to work independently and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
- Based in the UK or with demonstrable experience in UK HMO projects.
