Instructor at Rotherham Sea Cadets – Volunteer

We're looking for volunteers with experience working or volunteering with young people, in education, support or mentoring to join our team and help teach young people new skills for life!

You’ll get the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of young people. You’ll help empower them with skills, confidence and resilience to excel in life, while fostering teamwork and community. You’ll provide opportunities to explore maritime traditions and activities, contributing to building a generation of responsible and capable leaders.

• Prior experience working with children/young people
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them reach their potential
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons or activities
• Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment
• The ability to recognise the different needs and abilities of each young person
• Prior experience working or volunteering with young people in an educational setting or club setting

• Plan and deliver a variety of activities and lessons, using best practices you have developed
• Act as a mentor and role model for cadets, providing guidance and encouragement
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all cadets during training and events
• Collaborate with other volunteers to plan and execute unit events and programs
• Monitor the progress and development of individual cadets, providing feedback and support as needed
