Job title: Learning Mentor Level 1
Salary: WPT Band 5 £ 28163 - £30060 (£22792 - £24329 pro rata)
Hours: 34 hours per week, term time plus 5 inset days
Contract: Permanent
Location: Thrybergh Academy
To commence: As soon as possible
Who We AreWe’re Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) – a multi‑academy trust with eight primary schools, five secondary schools, one sixth form and one Central Team. We are located across Rotherham, South Yorkshire, with one school based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Key Responsibilities- Work closely with targeted pupils, providing specific support to address individual or small group needs and helping them overcome obstacles to learning.
- Observe pupil progress and identify unique needs, facilitating the development of personalised learning plans.
- Mentor pupils on a one‑to‑one basis, including those who may have been excluded, guiding them through the implementation of learning plans and providing ongoing encouragement.
- Build relationships with pupils’ families or guardians, collaborating to address issues such as poor performance, attendance and behaviour, and conduct home visits when necessary.
- Review and assess learning plans regularly, track pupil progress and provide insights to facilitate successful reintegration into the classroom.
- Develop a diverse range of activities including accessing external facilities and academic resources to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.
- Collaborate with external organisations to forge strong working relationships and leverage additional support services.
- Maintain meticulous pupil records and report on achievement and progress for accurate documentation and decision‑making.
To be successful you will need to demonstrate an effective and creative approach to teaching, a passion for your subject and a commitment to supporting the development of the department.
