Job Title: Joinery assessor / tutor
Location: Rotherham
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, including two evening sessions (Tuesday & Thursday, 6-9pm)
Pay: £25-40 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Start: ASAP
About the role / Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Joinery assessor to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to learners within a Further Education setting. You will support students in developing their practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and industry readiness.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Joinery / Wood Occupations training up to Level 3, in line with the curriculum.
- Support, assess, and guide learners through their joinery qualifications, ensuring timely progress and achievement.
- Experience delivering and assessing Joinery or Wood Occupations within Further Education or work-based learning.
Requirements
- A recognised Teaching Qualification (TQ) or willingness to work towards one.
- CAVA / A1 / TAQA Assessor qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong industry background in Joinery / Carpentry with up-to-date occupational competence.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years' referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks. Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
