Cover Supervisor – Rotherham

Milk Education is seeking confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of Secondary Schools in Rotherham. The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment when teaching staff are absent. You’ll deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged throughout the lesson.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teachers
  • Keeping pupils focused, motivated, and on task
  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
  • Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement
  • Promoting a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Experience working with young people
  • A degree in any subject is desired but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence leading groups and managing behaviour
  • A positive, proactive, and professional attitude
  • The ability to adapt quickly to different school settings
  • Experience in education, youth work, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar environments (desirable but not essential)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
