Training Programme Director – Neurology (South)
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director – Neurology (South). The post will be available on a secondment arrangement to NHS England – 0.75PA (3 hours per week). The role is accountable to the Head of School and will focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, engagement of faculty and educational outcomes, workforce transformation and multi‑professional links.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective clinical leadership and expert advisory on specialty‑specific matters for Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery.
- Implement the NHSE Quality Framework and Education and Training Quality Improvement and Performance, ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice.
- Lead School Programme Management: oversee specialty‑specific matters, trainee/trainer concerns, recruitment, assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, inter‑deanery transfers, academic training, career support, and less‑than‑full‑time training.
- Attend and represent the School at meetings and manage the engagement of stakeholders at local, regional and national levels.
- Advise and support educational and workforce development, develop programmes to support achievement of curriculum competencies, and drive financial compliance with procurement requirements.
- Primary medical qualification or on the Specialist Register.
- Membership or Fellowship of a relevant College, Faculty, Professional Association or Regulatory Body.
- Current UK professional registration.
- Significant experience working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership with demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills.
- Excellent organisation and time‑management abilities.
