About the Face-to-Face Tutor Role

As a Face-to-Face Tutor, you will work directly with KS3 and KS4 students on a one-to-one or small-group basis, delivering tailored learning sessions that meet individual needs. You will help learners overcome barriers to education, improve attainment, and develop confidence across core curriculum subjects.

Key Responsibilities as a Face-to-Face Tutor
  • Personalised Tuition Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging one-to-one and small-group tuition sessions tailored to the needs of KS3 and KS4 learners.
  • Targeted Academic Support: Identify learning gaps and implement effective teaching strategies to improve attainment, progress, and examination readiness.
  • Student Engagement: Build positive relationships with students to increase motivation, confidence, attendance, and participation in learning.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess, track, and record student progress, adapting tuition programmes and intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Collaborative Working: Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals to support positive educational outcomes.
To succeed as a Face-to-Face Tutor, you will need:
  • Previous experience tutoring or teaching KS3 and KS4 students within an educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
  • A patient, supportive, and professional approach to education.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
