Working directly with students, you will play a key role in identifying barriers to learning, supporting positive behaviours, and encouraging students to make informed choices that contribute to their success.

Much of your time will be spent around the campus, building relationships with learners and providing visible, proactive support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor attendance and engage with students to improve participation and achievement.
  • Build positive relationships with learners to identify and address barriers to learning.
  • Develop action plans and interventions for students at risk of poor attendance or disengagement.
  • Work closely with curriculum teams to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Follow up on absences and maintain accurate attendance and pastoral records.
  • Support intervention meetings with students and, where appropriate, parents and carers.
  • Promote positive behaviours and challenge conduct that falls below expected standards.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of students, working closely with support and safeguarding teams.
  • Use a trauma-informed approach when supporting learners and addressing pastoral concerns.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
About You
  • Experience supporting young people or adults to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Understanding of wellbeing, mental health, and student support interventions.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications (or equivalent).
  • Educated to Level 3 standard or above.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team.
  • Passion for supporting learners and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

  • Do you have experience supporting learners with attendance, wellbeing, or pastoral needs?
  • Do you hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent?

This is an excellent opportunity to positively impact students' lives while working within a supportive educational environment.
