About this Role

Aston Community Education Trust are a forward thinking and ambitious multi-academytrust, comprising of three secondary and nine primary academies across the Rotherham, Sheffield and North Derbyshire areas. Thurcroft Junior Academy, part of Aston Community Education Trust (ACET), is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled SENDIntegrated Resource Lead to join our dedicated team to further develop and growour SEND Integrated Resource. We are a mainstream Junior School and Nursery witha 10-place, Integrated Resource with enhanced provision, supporting pupils withEHCPs who have Communication and Interaction as their primary area of need.

The Provision currently provides 10 places with the opportunity to expand over time. This is an exciting and unique opportunity, andthe successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the development of the provision while working closely with RMBC and with ACET Inclusionleaders. The purpose of resource is to provide bespoke curriculumprovision and support for pupils who require an alternative learning environment and bespoke curriculum either as part or all of their time inschool.

We are looking for an experienced Send leader who has the passion and expertise in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs,particularly Communication and Interaction and Social, Emotional and Mental Health. The SEND integrated Resource Lead will manage and lead ateam consisting of a teacher and support staff. The successful candidate willbe expected to drive the provision whilst supporting all staff to ensure the highest quality offer and delivery.

The SEND Integrated Resource Lead would have responsibility for the organisational management ofthe Resource, such as admissions, consultations, liaison with the Local Authority, regular communication with the Principal, SENDCo and professionals, tosupport the statutory annual review cycle. As a member of the SEND and Inclusion Team,the successful candidate will meet regularly with the Principal and SENDCo toensure the Integrated resource remains integral to the provision of the wholeacademy.

They will be expected to model a commitment to the widerdevelopment of the academy and to be a role model in their professional attitude and conduct. The role is based at Thurcroft Junior Academy and will involve working collaboratively with other academies across the trust.

Key Responsibilities and Duties Leadership and Teaching
  • Support and co-ordinate a team within the SEND Integrated Resource, guiding staff todeliver high-quality SEND support.
  • Efficiently manage the day-to-day operation of the SEND Integrated Resource, includingpupil care and staff coordination.
  • Leadtargeted activities, interventions, and learning opportunities for groups and individual pupils within the SEND Integrated Resource based on the assess, plan do review model.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENDCo and class teachers to support effective delivery ofsupport and delivery of quality first teaching.
  • Workwith the SENDCo to assist class teachers in delivering an adapted, engaging,and effective curriculum tailored to pupils' needs.
  • Support teachers to design and create engaging, differentiated resources and activities to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including attending meetings within the academy and with outside agencies, as appropriate.
  • Play an active role in safeguarding children andadhere to the academy policies.
  • Have strong organisational skills, with the abilityto prioritise workload, manage competing demands, and maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with the Principal, school staff, including the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and other professionals as appropriate toensure the effective operation of the service.
  • Attend meetings and briefings as required and toprovide an evidenced based graduated response.
  • Promote a caring and supportive environment whereconcerns can be explored, thereby promoting mental and emotional health.
  • Liaise with relevant staff within the academy,making them aware of problems experienced by pupils and to make recommendations as to how these may be managed/resolved, as appropriate.
