Senior Estimator – RSK Group
CR Civil Engineering is part of the RSK Group
, a family‑run business operating throughout England and Wales. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator based at either our Rotherham or Loughborough offices.
We are looking for an experienced Estimator or an established Senior Estimator to step up their career, ideally with background in the Highways & Water sectors and subcontractors.
As a Senior Estimator you will lead all estimating activities, manage the cost bid process and ensure bid submissions meet client timelines and quality standards. You will work closely with the Pre‑Construction Manager, Senior Operational Leads and the Commercial Manager to support the tender process, build client relationships, and promote customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities- Assist the Pre‑Construction Manager in selecting and presenting potential tender opportunities to regional operational leads.
- Manage tender submissions ranging from £50 k to £20 m.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to define tender requirements.
- Work with the Commercial Manager on contract terms affecting tender pricing.
- Lead the estimating team in preparing bids, cost planning and ensuring adherence to procedures.
- Coordinate the management and measurement of BOQ/Works Information take‑offs.
- Review all tender documentation, including drawings, GI and specifications.
- Oversee overall tender management, liaising with the estimating team.
- Develop and coach team skills and knowledge on a daily basis.
- Present tender submissions to key stakeholders with full project understanding.
- Ensure final submissions comply with relevant standards.
- Maintain market rate knowledge and manage our cost library.
- Expertise in Candy and/or Causeway, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- 10+ years of estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of highways and water sectors.
- Full understanding of business processes, PQQ and tender library.
- Strategic marketing and influencing skills for tenders.
- Energy and drive to grow the business.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Understanding of construction contracts, primarily NEC

- Salary commensurate with experience.
- 42.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri).
- Pension scheme.
- 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays).
- Discretionary annual bonus.
