Quality Engineer - High-Impact Role in an advanced Manufacturing Environment

With two distinct manufacturing areas - one focused on structured, high-output work and the other on bespoke, customer-critical products - this role is perfect for a Quality Engineer who enjoys variety, visibility, and real influence.
What You'll Be DoingAs a Quality Engineer, you'll work across both sides of the production process, supporting quality at every stage - from raw material preparation to final machining. You'll play a key role in:
- Leading root cause investigations, NCRs, and structured problem solving.
- Driving outcome-focused improvements to reduce the cost of quality and increase reliability.
- Supporting audits and external approvals across ISO/BSI standards.
- Enhancing SOP consistency and ensuring process adherence.
- Being a visible presence on the shopfloor and a credible voice in senior-level meetings.
Within your first year, success will be measured by your ability to:
- Build strong communication bridges between shopfloor and leadership.
- Flag and tackle blockers early - with minimal hand holding.
- Use structured thinking to support process improvement and training initiatives.
- Champion a proactive quality mindset and preventative approach.
This Quality Engineer role suits a self-starter with a strong logical mindset and a passion for improvement. You'll need:
- Proven communication skills from operator to senior level.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally with a blend of high-volume and bespoke products.
- A root cause mindset - able to drive corrective actions with clarity and follow-through.
- Comfort hosting external visitors, audits, and customer inspections.
Backgrounds may vary - you could be degree-qualified in mechanical/materials/composites engineering or a technically brilliant shopfloor professional with real-world experience.
Exposure to marine or aerospace sectors is a bonus due to the customer and compliance environment.
