Environmental Manager

Environmental Manager SummaryA leading tier 1 contractor in the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors is looking for an experienced Environmental professional to take the lead on environmental activities across civils projects in our northern region. Based across the Midlands and North.
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Manager, the Environmental Manager will be responsible for leading all environmental activities across highway schemes (minor and major), urban realm projects as well as work in the energy sector.
Environmental Manager Duties- Initiate and maintain systems to review and monitor compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 and other company / divisional standards.
- Manage and oversee monitoring equipment, collect, process and interpret data (e.g. water, dust, noise, waste)
- Manage onsite Environmental Site inspections, highlighting any bad and good practice to the relevant teams and Senior Management
- Ensure that the Project Environmental Management System is implemented and operated on site through a programme of checking and auditing.
- Record and report all incidents to all relevant parties and instigate any corrective actions required.
- Prepare monthly environmental reports for the project, including completion of company / client and divisional reporting systems data systems
- Regularly report progress (including achievements) against environmental compliance, and environmental targets to the whole team
- Develop robust and comprehensive mitigation measures to deal with environmental risks, working collaboratively with the production team.
- Produce, review and update the Project Environmental Management Plan - EMP (and associated plans) on a regular basis
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and client representatives to ensure collaborative working relationships
- Significant experience with either a consulting engineer, main civil engineering contractor or a specialist environmental contractor.
- Broad knowledge of carbon management
- Full and Chartered IEMA Membership is desirable, minimum of a Practitioner level
Salary / Benefits:
Circa £61,000 - £68,000, negotiable dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package.
