The Role Lead the site's Safety, Health and Environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, company standards and corporate policies. Develop, implement and continuously improve SHE management systems, procedures and performance standards. Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on all SHE matters, including operational risk assessments, incident investigations and legislative compliance. Lead the development and delivery of site SHE improvement programmes to achieve world-class SHE performance.

Promote a strong behavioural safety culture by engaging employees at all levels and encouraging ownership of SHE responsibilities. Monitor SHE performance through audits, inspections, KPI reporting and trend analysis, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures. Ensure effective management of environmental compliance, including permits, emissions, waste management and sustainability initiatives.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SHE legislation and ensure the site remains fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements. Act as the site's subject matter expert for Operational Risk Assessment processes and process safety management. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, external SHE networks and industry groups. Qualifications & Experience

Experience with in a manufacturing or process industry environment. Degree or professional qualification in a relevant scientific discipline. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
