About the opportunity

If you’re passionate about materials, manufacturing and solving technical challenges, this could be the next step in your career. Balmoral Tanks is looking for a Coatings Engineer to help develop and improve the specialist coating technologies behind our market-leading products.

You’ll work with advanced Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) and Glass-Fused-to-Steel (GFS) coating systems used in critical infrastructure projects around the world.

Safety & Compliance Promote safe working practices and help maintain high quality and industry standards.

Could this be you?

Your background

You might already be working in coatings, process engineering, manufacturing or materials — or you may have built relevant experience in another technical environment.

Relevant backgrounds

Coatings Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Materials Engineer, Surface Treatment Specialist or Technical Development Engineer.

Experience in any of the following would be helpful, but curiosity, problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn are just as important:

Technical experience

Surface preparation, industrial coatings, FBE systems, enamelling, furnace technology, process improvement, laboratory testing and manufacturing quality systems.

What will help you succeed

You’ll enjoy this role if you like working with people, data and practical engineering challenges.

Key skills

Analysing data, solving technical problems, communicating clearly, working with others, managing priorities and using evidence to improve performance.

QualificationsA relevant degree or equivalent practical experience would be helpful, but we’re also keen to hear from candidates with strong hands-on technical knowledge and a positive learning mindset.

Relevant disciplines

Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Surface Coatings Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Applied Science.
