If you're the type of finance person who's just as comfortable pulling apart a spreadsheet as you are challenging a regional manager on their cost centre performance this is worth a conversation.
You'll join the finance team of a retail business as Commercial Finance Business Partner, working across regional P&Ls and individual cost centres to give operational leaders the commercial insight they need to actually run their part of the business better - not just report on how it's already gone.
It's a role that sits right at the blend of FP&A and business partnering - strong enough with data and forecasting to build the numbers yourself, but commercially credible enough that regional managers actually want you in the room when they're planning ahead.
- Strong analytically, with genuine confidence in a spreadsheet.
- Equally comfortable in a room with non-finance stakeholders as behind a screen.
- Someone who challenges constructively rather than just presents numbers.
- Commercially curious - interested in why things are happening, not just that they are.
This is a business with real scale and a finance team that has a track record of developing people into more senior roles - this isn't a role you'll be doing the same way in three years' time if you don't want to be.
- Commercial business partnering across regional P&Ls and individual cost centres.
- Providing insight to regional managers on cost centre performance.
- Budget management and forecasting insight.
- Supporting strategic planning alongside the FD.
- Blending FP&A and data-driven analysis with hands-on business partnering.
- Strong FP&A / commercial finance background, ideally within a multi-site or retail environment.
- Confidence presenting insight to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel / data skills.
- A genuinely commercial mindset - comfortable asking "why" and "what next".
