An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual to join our busy office based team as a part-time Medical Secretary within The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a comprehensive secretarial service to the Orthodontic Team with a keen eye for detail and a positive attitude.
Main duties of the jobAs a Medical Secretary, you will provide a comprehensive and effective secretarial service to the Orthodontic Team to ensure accurate clinical correspondence is produced and distributed within acceptable time frames. You will manage Orthodontic appointments as required, to ensure full utilisation and validation of clinic capacity. Acting as a main point of contact to patients, clinicians and outside agencies where appropriate, you will ensure strict confidentiality at all times while ensuring queries are answered in a courteous, sensitive and professional manner.
You will have experience working in a busy office environment with a strong ability to prioritise your workload. You should have a good command of English with excellent word processing skills and possess good working knowledge of Microsoft packages. NHS and medical terminology experience would be an advantage.

Person Specification Experience- Current experience of Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet packages
- Demonstrable experience working as a medical secretary or typist including medical audio transcription
- Minute-taking experience
- Demonstrable experience of Meditech
- If so, please provide the name of the organisation that referred you to enable us to validate and track your application
- Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and to work to deadlines
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
- GCSE English (or equivalent), Grade C (4) or above
