We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our friendly, busy team as a full-time Senior Booking Clerk across Specialist Surgery. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills. They will be highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and have current experience working with IT systems. They will provide an efficient and high-quality scheduling service to support achieving the teams key success targets.
This is a very busy role and will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who has the ability to cope with the demands of the service.
The successful candidate will manage the waiting lists and help with patient queries, bookings and cancellations, working closely with a team of medical secretaries, clinicians and the management team to ensure patients are listed for surgery appropriately. They will ensure all procedures have been followed, providing a smooth and positive experience for our patients.
This is a highly responsible but rewarding position and would suit a cheerful and self-motivated person who is able to prioritise their own workload with flexibility no two days are the same, and the team work extremely hard to put the patient first.

Person Specification Qualifications- NVQ or equivalent in customer service administration
- Previous training in/use of Trust in-house systems
- Working in a customer/patient care environment
- Working as part of a team
- Working under own initiative
- Working under pressure or to meet targets/deadlines
- Maintain effective, accurate and efficient office systems including
- Medi Tech
- Previous NHS experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the 18 week policies
- Knowledge of national and local access targets
- Confidentiality
