We are looking for a Nurse to join our busy practice who shares our vision in delivering the best healthcare for patients.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced practice nurse or a nurse considering a move into general practice.
Main duties of the jobTo provide a high quality care service based on the needs of the Practice population. Includes treatment, screening, preventative care and patient education.
- Manage patients with chronic disease / long term conditions.
- Undertake cytology screening as part of the national screening programme.
- Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
- Deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule for children and adults.
- Undertake contraceptive reviews.
- Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
- Undertake venepuncture.
- Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests.
- Undertake anticoagulation clinics to include interpretation of blood tests and dosing.
- Act as chaperone when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
- Collect data and participate in regular Practice audit and research projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of any Practice development plans.
- Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all PHCT staff, patients, carers and co-workers from other agencies. Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to.
- Promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the Practice.
- Maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the Practice.
- Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.
- Perform any other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time.
We are a long-established and highly regarded training practice operating from excellent surgery premises in Darfield and Wath Upon Dearne, good transport links only 10-15 minutes from the M1 and A1. Our list size is 11,000 patients.
We are looking for a committed Practice nurse to join our clinical team of 6 GPs, 1 Nurse Associate and 2 Health care Assistants.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse
- Current NMC registration
- Cervical cytology qualification
- Up-to-date training in childhood immunisations
- Interpersonal skills
