About the role

Reporting to the Senior OD & Change Officer, you will support the development and delivery of leadership, management and talent activities that contribute to the delivery of the Council Plan and Workforce Plan.

You will:

  • Support the design and delivery of leadership development programmes, using current good practice.
  • Support the identification of organisational development needs and deliver appropriate interventions.
  • Help to implement talent management and succession planning processes, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
  • Assist in the coordination of coaching and mentoring activities and deliver coaching, helping to build capability across the organisation.
  • Contribute to initiatives that support career development and progression for under-represented groups, in line with the Council’s Inclusion Strategy.
  • Work with HR colleagues to provide joined-up support to services.
  • Assist with the delivery of projects and programmes, ensuring delivery on time and quality.
  • Gather and use feedback and data to help understand impact and identify improvements.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
About you

You will have experience in one or more of these areas: organisational development, learning and development, HR or talent support, and be keen to develop your skills further. You will bring:

  • Knowledge of leadership development and learning approaches.
  • Experience in designing, delivering and evaluating development programmes or initiatives.
  • Experience of facilitating engagement excercises and using the outputs to shape a way forward.
  • Knowledge of talent management or career development approaches.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with HR or people teams.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience in gathering feedback, data presentation and analysis.
