If so, perhaps mechanical maintenance engineering is your career call. Earn as you learn, combining college study for a Level 3 in England/Wales with industry experience at the largest independent construction materials group in the UK.

• As an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you’ll support the vital need to uphold quarry and cement site production.
• You’ll be dismantling, examining, replacing, and reassembling mechanical and electrical systems and components.
• Servicing and maintaining equipment.
• Working on yellow machinery to equipment that deals with dust; there will be lots to learn.

You will attend college in Sheffield either a day release, or block release.

If you’re one to tiptoe around puddles with trepidation, maybe this role isn’t for you. You won’t be spending every day in a clean, corporate office swivelling on an office chair! If you have a natural affinity with the great outdoors, in all weathers, then now we’re talking!

• At least five GCSEs, grades 5-9/A-C, with a 6/B in Maths
• A demonstrable interest in engineering – via education and/or work experience
