We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Service Manager to shape the future and lead delivery of our Acute services. As a key member of the directorate leadership team, you will have an integral role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Acute services.
If you are a strong leader with experience of managing diverse teams and resource to improve patient outcomes, we would love to hear from you. You will need to have a proven track record of accomplishment in service improvement and innovative practice to continue to drive the Acute services agenda forwards as well as the ability to support colleagues to deliver the best services possible.
We are working hard to empower our communities within RDaSH, therefore a passion for community/inpatient working and experience of community/inpatient networking would also be desirable.
You’ll play an active role in shaping our research agenda. We support staff to publish, present at conferences, and collaborate with internal and external research partners.

Main duties of the jobThe Service Manager is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day delivery of designated clinical services and ensuring that those teams are performing in terms of patient outcomes, metrics, measures and targets.
They are also accountable for making sure that the Trust's strategy is executed locally and that standards of safety are maintained at all times.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care that is consistent with the values of the organisation.

Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Post-qualification specialist training in relevant subject
- Experience as a manager in a care setting
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of financial and substantial change management.
- Recent demonstrable success in influencing and contributing to successful service redesign
- Experience of developing effective team working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of exercising effective, results orientated leadership.
- Demonstrable evidence of sound financial planning and HR management.
- Must understand the background and A/I aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this for RDaSH
- An appreciation of the relationship between the Department A/I of Health and Social Care, the ICB and individual provider and commissioning organisation
- Developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on highly complex matters and difficult situations
- Ability to communicate with clinical, academic and all levels of staff effectively.
- Appreciation of the specific communication and leadership challenges for statutory providers in working with the voluntary sector and other community leaders
- Ability to provide and receive, convey and present highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious information to large groups, responding openly to questions to ensure full understanding and engagement.
- Analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present in a clear concise manner.
