Senior Project Manager – Rotherham

Equans is looking for a Senior Project Manager on a permanent, full‑time basis (40 hours per week). The role is based in Rotherham and offers a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The successful candidate will manage and organise projects delivery for the Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire Region with an annual budget of circa £5 m. The role includes mentoring, advising and supporting colleagues and customers, overseeing all project activities and providing mandatory performance updates to the Operations Director.

• Manage the performance and service of staff, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure an effective and efficient service.
• Deliver work to the highest safety standards, within budget and required timescales.
• Assist in scoping, pricing and client communication, reporting on progress of all work.
• Focus on customer service with a “can do” attitude, adaptable to changing business environments.
• Identify and report areas that fail to meet safety, technical, or environmental standards.
• Ensure proper risk assessments, method statements are in place and carried out.
• Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required.
• Carry out financial and technical appraisals of project options, feasibility studies, site surveys and liaison with designers and station staff as required.

• Project management experience within engineering/construction projects, with demonstrable evidence of project management processes.
• Experience delivering projects of circa £1 m value.
• Proven knowledge of health & safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Budget monitoring, commercial awareness and experience managing contractors.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance documentation in a project environment.
• Proven ability in preparing reports and information using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience supervising and setting contractors/sub‑contractors, and leading a project team.
• Strong networking ability to stay current with industry innovations.
• Understanding of safeguarding obligations in a school environment.
