Production Team Leader

Location:

Doncaster
Salary: £18 per hour

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 5pm - 1am

Contract:

Temporary to Permanent (3-month temp-to-perm opportunity)

About the Company

Your new employer is a growing family-run manufacturing business specialising in premium hay and grass-based products supplied to the agriculture, pet, zoo, and animal feed industries.
With a strong reputation for quality and customer service, the company exports products worldwide and continues to expand its operations.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a hands-on Leader to support their Doncaster facility and help coordinate daily factory activities.

The Role

Working closely with the Operations & Production Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the site and help guide a small group of around 7 colleagues.
As Production Team Leader, you will be involved in organising activities, supporting colleagues, and ensuring customer requirements, quality standards, and operational targets are achieved.
This is a hands-on role where you'll remain involved in the factory environment while helping the wider Team work effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Production Team to achieve daily operational targets
  • Coordinating manufacturing activities and ensuring orders are completed correctly
  • Monitoring processes and supporting quality checks

    Operating machinery and assisting with basic maintenance tasks

    Using FLT Counterbalance equipment safely to move materials and finished goods
  • Supporting packaging, stock movement, warehousing, and export preparation
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety, and organisation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and processes
What You'll Bring

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a busy manufacturing environment and takes pride in supporting others.
Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience within production, manufacturing, or a similar operational setting
  • Experience supervising or supporting colleagues within a workplace environment
  • A valid FLT Counterbalance licence
  • A proactive and practical approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a Team
