Furnace Operator

£15.83p/h, Monday to Friday, 3 shift rotation, AM/PM & Nights, Temp to perm, Weekly pay, 28 days holiday, training and development opportunities, Rotherham, Immediate start.
Due to an increase in demand and continued success a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Furnace Operator to join a global leading engineering business, with very high staff retention, based at their engineering facility in the Rotherham area. Working as part of a friendly team and reporting to the Production Manager, your day-to-day duties include:
 
* Setting and operating annealing furnaces.
 
* Responsible for the manufacturing line while running multiple products simultaneously.
 
* Checking product thickness, strength, colour, and positioning.
 
* Understanding and interpret engineering drawings.
 
* Ensuring all necessary product information is recorded accurately.
 
* Using FLT counterbalances and overhead cranes to load and unload machinery.
 
* Adhering to all health and safety procedures.
This role would suit someone who has worked as a Furnace Operator, Foundry Operative, Grinder, Fettler, Steel Worker and Rolling Mill Operative within a foundry, steel works or heavy engineering/ manufacturing environment. The successful Furnace Operator will have:
 
* Their own or inhouse FLT counterbalance licence (must be able to provide a copy).
 
* Experience working within a steel works, foundry or heavy engineering environment.
 
* A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
 
* Good understanding of health and safety.
