VACANCY: FLT / Warehouse Operative

LOCATION
: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

SHIFT PATTERN MONDAY – FRIDAY DAYS 6AM- 2PM.

MTL Advanced is hiring due to a major expansion, marked by the opening of our brand-new manufacturing facility, based in Rotherham just 5 minutes away from Meadowhall shopping centre.

MTL Advanced is operating from an impressive 390,000 sq. feet facility. We are a leading engineering and manufacturing company committed to innovation, quality and growth. We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM’s from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

We are looking to add a multi-skilled FLT Operative to join our Warehousing team. This is an exciting and varied role made up of supporting our operations ensuring that the stock movements around our 390,000 sq ft factory operate smoothly and efficiently.

You might know this role as a Counterbalance Driver, FLT Driver or Forklift Driver, but here at MTL Advanced there is so much more to the role than just driving; booking in parts, stock location audits, completion of documentation, picking parts from racking to deliver to other areas of the factory.

• Complete pre-shift FLT checks
• Operate FLT equipment within the Warehouse
• Safe loading, unloading and movement of our Fork Lifts
• Daily stock location audits
• Accurate completion of documents (paper based and digital)
• Book in parts and put away on to racking into its appropriate location
• Pick parts from racking and deliver to internal departments
• Move product from Laser and Press bays to Warehouse and Despatch areas safely

• Valid and in-date FLT Counterbalance licence
• Previous warehousing experience in engineering, moving large metal structures.
• Excellent levels of numeracy and literacy
• A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
