This is a hands‑on quality role for someone who understands that a Business Management System is only as good as the people maintaining it. The business operates to AS9100 standards and needs a Quality Compliance Engineer who can own the audit process, close out non‑conformances properly, and keep the BMS in shape – not just on paper.
What You’ll Be Doing- Maintaining and developing the Business Management System (BMS) in line with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements
- Planning and conducting internal audits across all departments, managing the audit schedule end to end
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external audits – customers, certification bodies, and regulatory organisations
- Raising, tracking, and closing out non‑conformances with proper root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Controlling quality documentation – procedures, work instructions, and records
- Conducting supplier quality evaluations and audits where required
- Providing quality guidance and training to staff across the business
- Supporting customer quality requirements and leading investigations when needed
A precision manufacturing facility in Sheffield, working Monday to Friday. The quality function sits close to the shop floor and interfaces regularly with production, supply chain, and customers. Occasional travel may be required for supplier and customer visits. The role reports directly to the Quality Manager.
What You’ll Need Essential- Proven experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role
- Demonstrable experience managing or maintaining a Business Management System
- Hands‑on experience conducting internal and external audits
- ISO 9001 / AS9100 Internal Auditor qualification
- Strong working knowledge of quality management systems
- Solid root cause analysis and problem‑solving capability
- Organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage competing deadlines independently
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
- Background in aerospace or precision engineering
- Salary dependent on experience – to be discussed at application stage
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Permanent position based in Sheffield
- Occasional travel only – no extended time away from base
