Depot & Stores Operative

Job description

We are looking for a Depot & Stores Operative to join our in‑house stores operation based in Hellaby, Rotherham. The role includes receiving deliveries from suppliers, maintaining stock levels, raising invoices accurately and ensuring that teams receive the goods required to execute their work in the community.

The post holder will also support the main operational depot in the Borough, ensuring site security and health and safety standards are adhered to and contributing to the Borough’s emergency response in the case of a major incident.

• Customer‑facing trade counter duties for Council Services.
• Receive, inspect and record deliveries from suppliers.
• Maintain accurate stock records and raise invoices.
• Uphold security, health and safety requirements on site.
• Assist with emergency response activities when required.
• Work effectively within a busy team environment.

• Experience working in a retail or trade supply environment.
• Strong customer‑focussed, conscientious and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, busy environment.
• Willingness to undergo a Basic level disclosure of criminal records check (unspent convictions).
