About the opportunity:Rotherham's Integrated Working Team is responsible for embedding the uptake of the Family Assessment of Need (FAN's) across all partners, and ensuring effective support is provided to children and families through this process. This includes:
- Support and giving oversight for families where a FAN has been requested from a partner agency.
- Support and guidance for partners through the process of completing the FAN, plan and undertaking the role of Lead Practitioner (LP).
- Providing information and advice to LP about services that could support or contribute to the support package for a child and family.
- Reflective discussions for families who are ‘experiencing difficulties in moving forward’ and to offer support to help drive change.
- Developing strong multi-agency relationships with local partners in order to ensure high quality support to children and families to address need and prevent problems becoming worse.
- Support in link worker meetings/action for education (attendance) meetings as and when required.
The Early Help Strategy is clear that the commitment is for families requiring support to have one worker and one plan and that this is a partnership endeavour from which families will benefit.
The postholders will operate from locality-based Family Help Services and will work across the Borough, providing support and oversight to partners acting as lead practitioners who are undertaking the Family Assessment of Need (FAN).
The postholders will work with a range of partners to embed the use of the FAN across the Borough, providing robust oversight and challenge to ensure effective support for children and families.
