HGV Class 1 Driver – Temp to Perm

Job Overview

As an HGV Class1 Day Driver – Temp to Perm Opportunity based in Rotherham, you will join a leading transport company through Pertemps Sheffield. The role is full‑time, offering day shifts that begin as early as 5:00am and normally last around 10hours, depending on routes.

You will be responsible for delivering goods to various customer sites, including MOD locations, and for strapping and securing loads before each journey. Some manual handling is involved, and you will complete vehicle checks and delivery paperwork. Night outs are likely, with an allowance of £25.00 per night. The position is paid at £16.00 per hour and offers the prospect of a permanent contract for suitable candidates.

• Deliver goods to a variety of customer sites, including MOD locations
• Strap and secure loads before transport
• Perform manual handling as required
• Complete vehicle checks and delivery paperwork
• Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism
• Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations

• Valid HGV Class1 (Category C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Experience with load strapping and securing is desirable
• Professional, reliable and flexible approach to work

Successful applicants will be required to pass a driving assessment before starting work.
