Futures are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established UK engineering and manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, hands-on mechanical professional who enjoys working within a busy engineering environment and takes pride in delivering work to a high standard. You’ll play an important part in the assembly, fitting and installation of engineered equipment and components, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and in line with technical requirements.

Working as part of the engineering and production team, your responsibilities will include:

Roles & Responsibilities

Completing mechanical fitting and assembly of engineered equipment, machinery and components
Working accurately from engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions
Using a range of hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
Carrying out drilling, tapping, bolting and other general fitting activities
Ensuring components are correctly positioned, aligned, fitted and secured
Performing checks and inspections throughout the assembly process
Identifying and reporting any faults, defects or fitting issues
Liaising with engineering, production and quality teams to ensure work meets required standards
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Following all company and site health & safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Fitter, Mechanical Technician or in a similar hands-on role

Experience with in mechanical engineering, manufacturing or a related industry
The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong practical knowledge of mechanical fitting and assembly techniques
Experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment
A good understanding of health & safety requirements within an engineering environment
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
