Internship Internal Control
We are offering an internship within our European Internal Control organization. You will gain hands‑on experience in strengthening and harmonizing our internal control framework across Europe. Working with colleagues from different countries and functions, you will contribute to key projects related to risk management, SOX compliance, policies and the use of AI in Internal Control.

Location and details- Location:
Rotterdam office, European HQ - Availability: 4 to 5 days per week
- Duration: 6 months (at least)
- Thesis/assignment: 10–20% of your time can be allocated to your thesis or university assignment
- Help create a standardized European Risk and Control Matrix based on an agreed methodology
- Support the harmonization of processes, subprocesses, risks and controls
- Contribute to the development of European policies and guidance for SOX controls
- Help harmonize controls across our European operations
- Draft control descriptions and testing attributes
- Support the creation of communication materials and training
- Explore how AI can be applied within Internal Control
- Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Internal Control and other business functions
- We are looking for an enthusiastic student with the following background and qualities:
- Currently pursuing a WO bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting or a related field
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Interested in risk management, internal controls and business processes
- Analytical and comfortable working with structured information
- Hands‑on, proactive and eager to learn
- Excited to work in a dynamic, international organization
- Available 4–5 days per week for at least six months
- Internship compensation of €750 gross per month, based on a 40-hour working week
