Full-time Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Customer Service Manager to lead and develop our Customer Service team in Rotterdam, supporting customers across Benelux, the UK and Switzerland.

This role is ideal for a hands-on people leader with a commercial mindset who enjoys being close to their team, customers, and daily operations.

About Wilhelmsen Founded in Norway in 1861, Wilhelmsen is a global maritime group delivering essential products and services to more than half of the world’s merchant fleet. Through our Ships Service / Marine Products division, we support vessels worldwide with trusted brands including Unitor, Timm Ropes, Unicool, and Nalfleet.

Last year alone, our products reached 27,500 vessels in over 2,000 ports. If it floats, chances are our products are on board.

About the role:

The Customer Service team is a key link between our customers and our global logistics network. As Customer Service Manager, you will have direct leadership responsibility for the Rotterdam-based team and overall responsibility for Customer Service performance across Benelux, the UK and Switzerland.

You will lead:

The team is based in Rotterdam and Dartford.
5 Sales Advisors in Rotterdam4 Sales Advisors in Dartford Each team member manages their own customer portfolio. You will also be part of the North Europe Customer Service Management Team, contributing to regional collaboration and best practice sharing.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for both people leadership and commercial results, with a strong focus on day-to-day execution and continuous improvement.

Leading, coaching, and developing the Customer Service team to deliver excellent customer experience and strong commercial performance

Driving sales activities such as proactive quote follow-up, order handling, and customer engagement

Ensuring execution of sales strategies, product campaigns, and promotional initiatives

Monitoring and achieving KPIs related to sales growth, order value, response time, and customer satisfaction

Identifying and acting on sales opportunities using customer insights and data Building strong, trust-based relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

Creating structured, efficient, and consistent ways of working across the team

We believe you have:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally within a commercial or business field

Several years of experience leading customer-facing teams, preferably in a sales or service environment

Strong people leadership skills and the ability to motivate, coach, and develop others

A commercial mindset and interest in driving sales through customer interaction

Excellent communication skills in English

A structured, organized approach to managing priorities and performance

Experience from the maritime industry is an advantage, but not a requirement

Confidence working with data and digital tools to support decision-making
