Senior Field Engineer
Join Van Oord to work as a Senior Field Engineer in the Installation Engineering Team based in the UAE Office, collaborating directly with HQ in the Netherlands to deliver high‑value solutions for our offshore projects.
Your Impact
The field engineer is part of the Offshore Energy Business Unitīgi and Pipeline Production Group. The role supports the Offshore Construction Manager and disciplines such as Welding, NDT, Coating, Survey, and Diving throughout all stages of offshore installation.
Responsibilities
Verify and advise pipeline installation stress‑strain configuration for each pipeline section.
Perform basic engineering calculations or coordinate with the Engineering department in line with Van Oord standards.
Verify and direct pipe tally and manage offshore pipe load‑out sequences with Logistics and pipe supply.
Verify engineering and work preparations of task plans or lifting plans.
Ensure the latest applicable revision of project documentation is available on board.
Job Requirements
University degree in Mechanical, Civil or Marine Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of offshore pipeline installation experience, including spool pieces and tie‑ins with anchored pipelay barges.
Familiarity with day‑to‑day offshore vessel operations in the oil & gas industry, including logistics.
Experience with vessel mobilization/demobilization, subcontractor management and meetings.
Proven experience with pipeline shore pulls (open cut, HDD).
Proven experience with Single Point Mooring buoy installation.
Preferable experience with cable and umbilical installation.
