Job summary
This position will be focused on our EU1 region which include: 19 Facilities in the Netherlands and 1 in Germany, with 5 automated warehouses and 3 juice processing facilities.

The Regional Engineering Manager will oversee his/her regional Facility Engineering and Maintenance function of Lineage and is responsible for providing direction, oversight, strategic and tactical support of all refrigeration, facility, and material handling equipment maintenance activities whilst ensuring Safety and Compliance.

You will report into the Director Engineering Europa and has a dotted line to the Regional VP Operations for EU1. You will be part of the Leadership Team for EU1.

The role has multiple dotted line reports in his/her region from (Campus) Maintenance Managers. These reports will hierarchically report to the site managers and operational directors.

The role involves oversight of technical staff in achieving operational efficiencies and budgeted improvement targets.

This role will be based in Rotterdam and will require 50% travel to facilities within the Netherlands and Germany.

Key responsibilities

Deliver key projects and strategic initiatives (Process Safety, CAPEX projects, CMMS implementation, Automation, MHE strategy, Energy reduction)

Drive action in his/her region on the Lineage Europe Maintenance and Engineering strategy in consultation with the Director Engineering Europe and Regional VP Operations

Ensure maintenance standards of in- and outsourced technical activities of Lineage in the region

Create and implement industry Best Practices

Develop existing and new talent to create teams of highly skilled engineers

Your background

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in engineering/maintenance management and leadership within distribution and warehousing.

The successful candidate will have a business background to include competency in maintaining/engineering the various functional areas of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, warehouse automation, IT systems, Project Management and supply chain optimization.

At least a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Languages:

English and Dutch are a must have;
German is a plus

Additional skills/background

Region responsibility (ability to manage remotely and work with virtual teams)

Development and execution of strategy / annual plans (OPEX-CAPEX-budget, operational performance, SOPs, etc.)

Supplier and contractor management together with procurement

Knowledge on contract management and SLA’s

Metrics measurements (i.e. energy efficiency, quality, employee productivity, and safety)

Employee training and development (technical/functional input)

Value added services (VAS) knowledge (i.e. mechanized sortation, packing, picking, juice processing / blending)

Influence others and build effective relationships / deal confidently with people at all levels of the business
