At Air Products, we are shaping the future of industrial gases and the energy transition. Our HyCO4 facility in Rotterdam is the only world-class stand-alone hydrogen production facility in Europe and one of the largest Air Products production facilities in the Netherlands.

Today, HyCO4 supplies hydrogen to multiple industrial customers through a dedicated pipeline network. At the same time, the site is expanding through the addition of a state-of-the-art Carbon Capture facility , which will export captured CO₂ to the PORTHOS network and play an important role in reducing industrial emissions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to join the future operations team during an exciting period of growth and development. Working alongside experienced operators and commissioning specialists, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting the transition of the new Carbon Capture facility from construction through commissioning, start‑up, and into normal operation. You will also develop the skills required to become a fully qualified HyCO4 operator while working with both established hydrogen production processes and innovative carbon capture technologies.

What You’ll Do
As an Operator HyCO4, you will support the safe and reliable operation of one of Europe’s most advanced hydrogen production facilities while helping bring a new Carbon Capture plant into operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the hydrogen production and carbon capture facilities.

Performing routine inspections, monitoring plant performance, and identifying operational deviations.

Assisting with plant start‑ups, shutdowns, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

Supporting maintenance, turnaround, and project activities in accordance with site safety standards.

Working closely with experienced operators, engineers, and project teams while developing the skills required to become a fully qualified HyCO4 operator.

Contributing to Air Products’ commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

Technical MBO-4 qualification or an equivalent technical background.

Experience with in a process manufacturing, energy, refinery, chemical, or industrial operating environment.

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Willingness to work in a continuous shift operation.

A strong desire to learn and develop operational competence within a complex process facility.

Flexibility to travel to associated operational locations within the Rotterdam area when required.

Experience with SAP is advantageous but not essential.
