Blue Offshore is looking for an  Equipment & Yard Manager  to join our team.

In this role, you are responsible for the management, maintenance, inventory control and operational readiness of Blue Offshore’s offshore equipment pool. You make sure that technical assets, from cable handling systems and offshore tooling to support equipment, spare parts and consumables, are maintained, traceable, certified where required and ready for project mobilisation.

This is a practical and varied role that combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong organisational, planning and asset management skills. You will be the key link between our equipment base, project teams and offshore operations.

You will spend most of your time at our yard and warehouse in Rotterdam RHB Waalhaven, where equipment is stored, maintained, inspected and prepared for mobilisation. Regular presence at our head office in The Hague is also required for coordination meetings, project preparation and operational planning.

Responsibilities
As Equipment & Yard Manager, you will:

Manage and organise the complete offshore equipment pool, including preventive and corrective maintenance and project-specific modifications

Ensure equipment is operational, maintained, traceable, certified where required and ready for mobilisation

Supervise inspections, repairs and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems

Maintain equipment records, maintenance plans, spare parts databases, certification status and asset tracking in Timly

Manage inventory control for equipment, tools, PPE, spare parts and consumables

Conduct physical inventory audits and reconcile stock with Timly records

Develop and enforce procedures for warehouse, storage, asset control and equipment handling

Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment with project teams, including packing, transport and documentation

Liaise with subcontractors for third-party maintenance, certification and specialist repairs

Report on equipment utilisation, maintenance status, certification expiry dates, inventory accuracy and equipment readiness

Provide on‑site technical support during equipment mobilisation, commissioning and demobilisation

Act as focal point for technical troubleshooting during offshore operations

Support Project Managers with technical planning, documentation and performance monitoring

Coordinate with offshore crews, logistics and supply chain partners

Contribute to operational safety, quality and efficiency improvements

Promote HSE awareness and behaviour‑based safety leadershipli>

Participate in the development and improvement of Blue Offshore’s equipment

Recommend and implement technical improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime

Contribute to Blue Offshore’s R&D programme for new technologies and equipment design

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or marine engineering, MTS/HTS level or equivalent

HSE leadership or safety training as an advantage

VCA VOL preferred

3 to 5 years of experience in technical services, marine or heavy industry or offshore operations

Proven experience with offshore, marine, subsea, cable handling or heavy lifting equipment management

Experience with winches, hydraulic systems, tensioners, cable handling equipment, offshore tooling or similar equipment, strongly preferred

Strong technical and operational insight

A practical, hands‑on mentality

Excellent organisational and planning skills

A proactive and flexible way of working

The ability to manage ad hoc challenges

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A strong safety and quality mindset

Confident communication skills in Dutch and English, written and spoken

Good computer skills, including MS Office, maintenance tools and project management tools

Driving licence B
