Overview

At Eneco, our One Planet strategy sets an ambitious goal to be climate neutral by 2035. We are committed to building digital capabilities that help us optimise our energy portfolio, enhance forecasting accuracy, and empower our trading and sourcing teams with best‑in‑class insights. As energy markets become increasingly complex and data‑driven, our ability to forecast, manage risk, and make fast, informed decisions is more important than ever.

We’re looking for a Product Manager who combines strong product thinking, analytical rigor, and curiosity about emerging technologies like AI and machine learning to shape the next generation of trading analytics and forecasting capabilities.

You’ll be part of an empowered, cross‑functional product management team that focuses fully on the B2B domain. Together, we design and deliver digital capabilities that help Eneco’s trading, sourcing, and portfolio management teams operate with confidence, speed, and data‑driven clarity.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sourcing specialists/portfolio managers to deeply understand workflows, decision points, and optimisation needs—and convert them into valuable product improvements.
  • Work closely with data scientists, data analysts, and data engineers to ope rationalise advanced ML forecasting models and convert data outputs into intuitive, reliable tools.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and transparency across commodity value streams by translating market dynamics, portfolio needs, and data insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Champion data quality, monitoring, observability, and experiment‑driven development to ensure stable, trustworthy forecasting platforms.
  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for forecasting, analytics, and decision‑support capabilities used by Eneco’s sourcing and portfolio teams.
  • Prioritise outcomes using quantitative metrics (e.g., MAPE, P95, exposure insights) and ensure the product roadmap aligns with strategic business goals.
  • Communicate progress, trade‑offs, and decisions clearly to a wide range of commercial, data, and tech stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and intelligent experimentation across the product domain.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years in product management, ideally in data, analytics, trading, forecasting, or quantitative digital environments
  • Deep curiosity for AI/ML tools, data platforms, and analytical workflows — bonus if you ve worked with forecasting or optimization models
  • A passion for creating intuitive, high‑impact products that simplify complex decision‑making
  • Comfortable working alongside engineers, data scientists, and analysts — you can dive deep enough to understand architecture, data flows, and technical trade‑offs
  • Strong grasp of complex quantitative or ML‑driven concepts, with the ability to distill them for diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions — trading, sourcing, portfolio management, data, engineering
  • Skilled at building alignment, influencing without authority, and driving clarity in ambiguous environments
  • Grounded in agile principles and a data‑driven mindset
  • Strong analytical depth paired with sharp communication skills (English required; Dutch is a plus)
Team and Culture

You’ll work closely with other Product Managers, reporting to the Group Product Manager, and collaborate daily with engineers, designers, researchers, data scientists, and commercial stakeholders. Our teams are customer‑centric and data‑driven, and we love to experiment, learn, and continuously improve.

You’ll join an energetic, supportive team with a strong passion for the energy transition. We value personal connection, care, and continuous learning, and we create space for everyone to grow—both professionally and personally.
