Quality & Logistics Optimizer

As a Quality & Logistics Optimizer (Blender), you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing blending and logistics strategies that deliver products meeting quality specifications, timing, and location requirements at the lowest achievable cost. You will operate at the intersection of trading and operations, partnering closely with traders to maximize commercial value through blend optimization, minimize quality giveaway, and ensure safe, reliable, and compliant execution across the supply chain.

Blending & Optimization – Design optimal blend recipes within quality and operational constraints, ensure on-specification products at the lowest cost, optimize blend economics, minimize quality giveaway, continuously improve portfolio performance and blending strategies, and maintain market awareness of component and blending opportunities.

Operational Execution – Execute blending and operational plans safely and efficiently, coordinate product movements and blending activities, monitor performance and resolve issues, align inventory positions with commercial requirements, and drive operational efficiency while maintaining product integrity and compliance.

Trader Partnership & Planning – Act as a key partner to traders, translate trading strategies into executable blending and logistics plans, and provide operational insights to support commercial decision‑making.

Stakeholder & Contract Management – Manage external relationships with terminals, inspectors, vessel operators, additive suppliers, and counter parties; act as contract holder for terminal and inspection service agreements; drive performance through KPI monitoring and cost control, and participate in contract reviews and negotiations.

Commercial Value Creation – Identify and capture value opportunities across components, logistics, and blending strategies; build and optimize product and component portfolios; contribute to trading desk margins through optimization and market engagement; and seek arbitrage and efficiency opportunities across the supply chain.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement – Own and monitor key performance indicators, analyze portfolio performance, conduct root cause analyses for operational and quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

HSSE, Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with Shell HSSE standards and regulatory requirements; manage product quality and contamination risks; ensure adherence to customs, tax, and contractual obligations; and support audits and risk mitigation activities.
