As part of Lyondell Basell's Supply Chain organization, Logistics Procurement plays a critical role in securing reliable, cost-efficient, resilient and sustainable transportation and storage solutions across global operations. The function combines market expertise, strategic sourcing, operational understanding and disciplined supplier governance to protect business continuity and create measurable value. This role may operate across warehousing, ocean container and freight forwarding, and requires close collaboration with operations, commercial teams, manufacturing sites, HSE, legal, finance, trade compliance and procurement leadership.

Day in the Life

As the Buyer Warehouse and Ocean Container, you support the development of sourcing strategies and take care of execution, independently manage sourcing activities of moderate complexity for an assigned warehouse and ocean container logistics portfolio. Within defined scope, you support reliable and cost-effective services for warehouse operations, including bulk and packed polymer storage and handling, and ocean container movements and freight forwarding.

The role delivers disciplined RFQ execution, supplier analysis, contracting support, market benchmarking, supplier relationship management and performance tracking within established category strategies and governance frameworks.

  • Execute RFQs, spot buys and sourcing events for assigned warehouse, ocean container and related logistics services or sub-segments, including bulk and packed polymer warehouse services where applicable.
  • Collect and analyze spend, rate, service, supplier performance and market data to support sourcing decisions, benchmarking and business cases.
  • Prepare bid documentation, comparison models, supplier summaries and sourcing recommendations.
  • Support supplier qualification, onboarding and contract administration in line with approved governance processes, including relevant HSE, quality, legal, trade compliance, commercial and operational requirements.
  • Track supplier KPI performance, dashboards, scorecards, issue logs and agreed action plans; elevate deviations as appropriate.
  • Support implementation of awarded contracts, supplier expectations and updated work processes with operations, planners, HSE, trade compliance, commercial teams and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain day-to-day commercial relationships with assigned logistics service providers and act as the focal point for routine commercial, performance and service-level topics within the defined portfolio.
  • Maintain sourcing documentation, contracts and approval records in agreed systems and repositories.
  • Identify opportunities for cost, service, compliance or process improvement by comparing supplier performance, total cost and market benchmarks within the assigned portfolio.
You Bring This Value
  • 5 years' relevant experience in procurement in logistics, warehousing, ocean container, freight forwarding.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Practical experience executing RFQs, supplier comparisons, basic negotiations, contract support and supplier performance follow-up.
  • Ability to analyze spend, rates, service performance and market data to support sourcing recommendations.
  • Strong English communication skills and confidence working with Excel, supplier dashboards and procurement documentation.
  • Experience in chemical, manufacturing, bulk or packed polymer logistics environments.
  • Knowledge of SAP transactions, procurement systems or logistics workflow tools.
  • Additional regional language skills relevant to the assigned supplier or stakeholder base.
  • Digital curiosity, including willingness to use analytics, AI and workflow tools to improve efficiency.
