Role Overview
The Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of production activities related to the handling, filling, and processing of gas containers. The position exists across multiple seniority levels, ranging from junior operational support to full shift supervision and team leadership. This role operates in a safety‑critical environment and requires strict adherence to EHS and quality standards, as well as strong coordination with production, logistics, and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and control equipment used in filling gas containers. Ensure all production activities follow established procedures and safety standards. Perform quality checks on gas containers and identify deviations. Handle, sort, load, and unload cylinders in line with operational processes. Support continuous production flow and meet delivery requirements.
- Coordinate production activities across the plant. Supervise, coach, and guide operators within the team. Support workforce planning and shift organization. Provide operational updates and performance feedback to Production Manager. Act as Shift Supervisor when required.
- Register and track gas containers in internal systems (e.g., SAP/ERP). Handle administrative tasks related to transport and inventory. Manage and process operational data and reports. Investigate and document complaints related to gas containers.
- Perform minor maintenance on gas containers. Maintain tool inventory and workplace organization. Ensure high housekeeping standards across the facility.
- Follow all EHS procedures and take personal ownership of safety performance. Actively contribute to the “Zero Incidents” objective. Participate in safety meetings, audits, and improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with ISO
9001 and GDP quality standards.
- Level 1 – Shift Supervisor: Leads and coordinates production operations. Manages a team of operators (~10 FTE). Oversees plant‑wide production performance.
- Level 2 – Senior Operator: Operates machinery and performs administrative tasks. Supervises junior operators. Acts as deputy for Shift Supervisor.
- Level 3 – Operator: Executes gas filling and production processes. Performs inspections and reports deviations.
- Level 4 – Junior Operator: Supports production through cylinder handling and logistics. Assists with loading/unloading and sorting containers.
- Education: Technical vocational qualification (preferred across all levels).
- Experience (by level):
- Level 1: 7+ years in process/industrial environment.
- Level 2: 5+ years in process environment.
- Level 3: 3+ years in process environment.
- Level 4:
Entry‑level with basic technical knowledge.
- Experience in process or production environments.
- Knowledge of gas cylinders / industrial gases (preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Languages:
English required. Dutch preferred depending on level.
Exposure to industrial environments (noise, temperature variations). Physically demanding tasks and manual handling. Potential on‑call duties for operational incidents. Risk exposure requiring strict adherence to safety procedures.
