Warehouse Specialist

Overview

A Warehouse Specialist is responsible for processing shipments in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring operational excellence, high efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Sorting, packing, loading, and unloading freight and managing shortages/damages with a CDR report prepared.

• Load and unload trucks;
• Pull and stage outbound goods using loading manifest;
• Check in/load out domestic and international freight;
• Put freight away in designated areas;
• Drive sit down forklift (electrical or propane) in a safe and efficient manner;
• Re-weigh freight / cargo as directed (basic math skills required);
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety procedures and policies;
• All other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as the business demands deem necessary;
• Actively participate in safety policies, activities, and implementations;
• Execute all Dangerous goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations:
  • Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions and possible improvements.

• Literacy and numeracy;
• Previous warehouse experience;
• Knowledge of air freight regulations desirable;
• Reach / counterbalance truck experience/certification required;
• Detail oriented and thorough, and able to work in a fast pace, high volume environment;
• Strong organisational and time management skills;
• Work effectively as part of a team;
• Manual handling skills;
• Ability to understand and follow instructions;
• Basic administration skills;
• Able to use a computer and the main software packages completely;
• Able to operate and control equipment;
• Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated;
• Patient and able to remain calm in stressful / high pressure situations;
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job.
