Role

Summary:

The Senior Agency Operator will be a key member of a team responsible for providing a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week rostered on-call service to our Principals to ensure the safe and smooth turnaround of allappointed vessels within the jurisdiction of the port office.

Due to the nature of port agency, the working hours will vary and will include early mornings,evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a fair and rotational basis. This will include travel andvessel boarding in the region managed by the port office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate vessel port calls from nomination through to departure and post-call completion.
  • Arrange port services, including berthing, pilotage, towage, and sailing operations.
  • Manage vessel husbandry services such as crew changes, spares, provisions, bunkers, and visitor access.
  • Liaise with port authorities, terminals, customs, suppliers, and vessel representatives to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and manage operational documentation, customs clearances, and vessel reports.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and cargo operations, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Attend vessels as required to complete formalities and support masters and crew.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Support financial processes, including cost estimates, pre-funding requests, and invoice administration.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers while identifying opportunities to improve service and operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Prior port agency experience with cruiseships, tankers, container vessels andcar carriers.
  • Good working knowledge of Port Operations, Shipping and Port Agency.
  • Experience working in a front facingcustomer service role.
  • Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures.
  • Experience of (or willing to work in) anout of hours (non-Monday to Friday) role.
  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlandswithout needing employer sponsorship.
  • Full Dutch Driving License B and bewilling to drive to ports across the regionas required.
  • Able and willing to attend port calls which includes being outside in allseasons.
  • Physical ability to board ships.
  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlandswithout needing employer sponsorship.
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word.
