This is an excellent opportunity for a marine professional with a strong seagoing background to transition into a shore-based surveying position, working across a varied portfolio of vessels and bunker operations.

  • Performing bunker sampling in accordance with recognised industry procedures.
  • Inspecting bunker tanks, sounding arrangements and measurement systems where required.
  • Recording quantities, temperatures, densities and other relevant bunker data.
  • Preparing accurate bunker survey reports and documentation.
  • Liaising with vessel crews, bunker suppliers, terminals, agents and clients.
  • Identifying and reporting discrepancies, contamination concerns or irregularities during bunker operations.
  • Ensuring all surveys are completed accurately, independently and within agreed timescales.
  • Travelling to ports, terminals and vessels throughout the Rotterdam region and wider area as required.

Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant marine, bunker and safety procedures.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience working onboard seagoing vessels.
  • A strong practical understanding of vessel operations and marine engineering.
  • Previous experience with bunkering, fuel handling or marine operations would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of marine terminology, vessel systems and onboard procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately record and assess technical information.
  • Confident communicating with Masters, Chief Engineers, bunker suppliers and other marine stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while attending vessels.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and occasional short-notice assignments.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Strong written and spoken English.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced seafarer to establish a long-term career within marine surveying while remaining closely connected to vessel operations.
