The Round Lake Area Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic, creative team player with excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service, to fill a part‑time position at the library. The person filling this position will provide reference, reader's advisory, and program services to children of all ages and abilities and their caregivers. This position will teach patrons basic computer skills, how to use library resources and electronic services, as well as providing weekly story times and programming.
We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with current books and authors and can relay that information to patrons.
- High school diploma or GED is required, but a Bachelor's degree, LTA certificate or comparable education or work experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- The ability to maintain a good attitude and a sense of humor.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- This position requires bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
