Manufacturing Technician II – Inspection – Day Shift

TAKEDA PHARMACEUTICALS AMERICA, INC., located in Round Lake Beach, Illinois, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support day‑shift production on our four therapeutic platforms:
Small Molecules, Biologics, Plasma, and Cell & Gene.

About the role

As a Manufacturing Technician II, you will implement all processes in production while strictly following cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines, and related regulations. You will organize and lead production activities, participate in departmental projects and quality teams, and may act as line lead to ensure the line operates smoothly and meets daily goals.

Responsibilities
  • Implement production processes and document activities on routers or the electronic batch management system (EBM).
  • Assist with the movement of product between inspection stages and packaging within the value stream.
  • Act as line lead when required, ensuring continuous operation and timely achievement of daily targets.
  • Maintain a safe and quality working environment, perform daily cleaning, and comply with cGMP and safety regulations.
  • Support manufacturing operations, including operating general production equipment such as downstream automated packaging lines, forklifts, and hoists.
  • Move pallets and supplies among production areas and communicate across departments.
  • Train new and existing employees or contractors on procedures and best practices.
  • Report safety, quality, compliance, and equipment issues to the manufacturing lead operator and supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team success and professional development.
How You Will Contribute
  • Maintain a safe and quality working environment.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Lead Manufacturing Technicians I in daily tasks.
  • Operate general production equipment (e.g., downstream automated packaging lines, forklifts, hoists).
  • Move pallets to different rooms within the value stream.
  • Communicate and work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Receive and distribute supplies into the production area.
  • Follow cGMP, environmental health, and safety guidelines and GDP/GMP paperwork requirements.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and electronic system prompts/tasks.
  • Perform daily cleaning of the production area in GMP fashion.
  • Train new and existing employees/contractors on procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience, or an AA or higher degree with 1+ year of related work experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Understanding of cGMP regulations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and protective clothing.
  • Perform tasks in cold, wet, or confined spaces and may work around chemicals requiring respiratory protection.
  • Carry, lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs with assistance from material handling equipment.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods and may need to bend, twist, reach overhead, or squat.
  • Work non‑traditional hours, including weekends, holidays, and a 12‑hour shift (5:00 am–5:30 pm) on a 2‑2‑3 rotation.
  • Ongoing need for flexibility to work during off‑shift hours to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage range: $18.85 – $29.62. Eligible benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, sick time, and vacation accrual. Short‑term incentives may also be available for U.S. employees.
