What we want
The Program Coordinator I, medical education coordinator, coordinates and facilitates activities for Texas A&M University Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine’s undergraduate medical education programs to include administrative, education and accreditation responsibilities. Provides administrative support to clerkship and site directors, faculty, and peer clerkship coordinators. Serves as liaison to education administration, students, faculty and staff, and clinical affiliate healthcare providers and staff.

What you need to know
Position’s working hours are primarily Monday‑Friday, 8am‑5pm; some after‑hours and weekend work may be required. Travel to health systems within the surrounding area and to other College of Medicine campuses will be required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Two years of experience in project administration including experience in education administration and/or coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • At least five (5) years of experience in medical education or student services coordination
  • Experience managing and/or coordinating delivery of medical curriculum and student affairs services
  • Experience with the Canvas, Elentra, and/or other educational software systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively
  • Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate curriculum delivery workflows using health education software; manage student schedules, documentation, evaluations and grades for UME
  • Support the preparation and presentation of course activities
  • Coordinate activities related to educational conferences, meetings, lectures, laboratory sessions, examinations and special events as directed by curriculum and leadership
  • Assist faculty in the development and delivery of medical education courses, clerkships, and programs
  • Collaborate with medical education coordinators and course leadership to organize and disseminate course materials for curricular blocks, threads, clerkships and electives within the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine’s UME program
  • Administer curriculum in an e‑learning environment utilizing the Canvas learning management system as well as additional required software applications
  • Interact with students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders; liaise with affiliate partners (healthcare systems, clinics, community organizations)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to all FERPA and HIPAA documentation, i.e., student records
  • Process and facilitate Round Rock medical student documentation to ensure successful away/off‑campus clinical rotations
  • Distribute campus information such as course/workshop start reminders and notifications for upcoming campus activities
  • Compile and maintain data to ensure compliance with institutional and program accreditation requirements (LCME and SACS); coordinate and prepare materials for continued institutional accreditation
