Senior Industrial Engineer – Life Sciences – Real-Time Scheduling (RTS)
We are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our global Life Sciences Professional Services team, responsible for implementing Real-Time Scheduling (RTS) deployments. RTS is Emerson’s discrete event simulation application used for scheduling, debottlenecking, and capacity analysis of complex manufacturing processes.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Use discrete event simulation to model complex processes, including debottlenecking and capacity engineering of manufacturing systems.
- Apply consultative skills in customer‑facing meetings to understand processes and integrate varying sources of data into the RTS software.
- Develop algorithms for design of experiment, display of data, optimization methods, and efficiency methods.
- Implement and support the software, working with clients to incorporate upgrades and changes.
- Assist Technology teams with product testing and development of product features and enhancements.
- Work to deliver projects within budgeted timeline, and engage customers to ensure satisfaction with the software.
You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. You are decisive and make high‑quality decisions, even when based on incomplete information or in the face of uncertainty. You effectively align the interests of multiple, diverse stakeholders.
For This Role, You Will Need:- BS degree in Engineering with 5 years experience.
- Knowledgeable with discrete event simulation tools (e.g., Flex Sim, Simio).
- Good knowledge of probability and statistics.
- Ability to independently develop software solutions for novel problems.
- Experience in mathematical modeling and scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python, Matlab).
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Experience in the Life Sciences industry.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as both a leader and an individual contributor.
