Water and Wastewater Project Manager – Lochner

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced civil engineer and project manager with 10+ years in planning, design and project management of water and wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects. The position involves managing utility design and municipal water/wastewater projects from either of our Central Texas offices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work with junior staff and direct other technical staff to produce high‑quality designs and plans.
  • Perform civil engineering planning, analysis, detailing and plan set production.
  • Manage projects, including task, budget and schedule control, and client interaction.
  • Lead, mentor and develop junior staff while working on public infrastructure projects across Central Texas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Texas PE license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • 10–15 years of municipal infrastructure experience, including water and wastewater pipelines, storage tanks and pump stations in planning, detailed design and construction administration.
  • 3+ years of project management and client service experience, with successful budget and schedule control.
  • 3+ years managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey engineering information concisely to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in multiple municipalities and giving Council/Board presentations.
  • Successful experience writing Statements of Qualifications and participating in sales activities.

Work Environment

The work environment is representative of typical conditions encountered while performing essential functions. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. Physical Requirements

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, and lifting. Employees must frequently lift or move light equipment up to 20 pounds. They must remain alert to field equipment, occasionally work near hazardous machinery, walk on uneven ground, and may be exposed to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extreme temperatures or humidity, and heights.
